Wood Preservation Using the Vacuum Pump Hydraulic Pressure System
Vacuum Pump Hydraulic Pressure
At Akrawood, wood preservation is done through both dipping and vacuum-pressure processes. While the green dipping method is widely used in sawmills without vacuum machines, resulting in green-colored wood, Akrawood employs a vacuum-pressure system for wood treatment every time. This process ensures proper chemical impregnation followed by kiln drying.
Kiln drying is a method that balances the internal and external moisture content of the wood by evaporating water or excess moisture, particularly from fresh or high-moisture wood. The process uses heat generated from steam produced by boiling water. It starts with moderate heating (around 60°C) and gradually increases the temperature over a period of 3-4 days, typically not exceeding 90-95°C. The goal is to control the drying process so that the wood surface does not dry too quickly while the inner wood remains moist.
Throughout the drying process, temperature and humidity levels are carefully monitored. The drying schedule varies depending on the wood’s size and type, and different steps are required for each stage. Generally, it takes about 7-15 days to achieve a moisture content of approximately 8-12%.

Full-Cell Treatment Process
The full-cell treatment process aims to maximize the penetration of preservative chemicals into the wood cells. First, selected wood is placed in a treatment tank, where air and moisture inside the wood cells are removed using a vacuum system. Then, the preservative is introduced into the tank under pressure of 7-13 kg/cm² at a temperature of 80-100°C to ensure the chemical penetrates thoroughly into all the wood cells. The process typically takes 2-3 hours. After that, the pressure is reduced, the preservative is drained, and a vacuum is applied once more to complete the treatment.
Custom Wood Cutting Service
We offer custom wood cutting services to meet your specific size requirements. Our “Cut to Size” service ensures that wood is cut precisely to your desired dimensions.

LVL Innovation (Laminated Veneer Lumber)
Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) is made by drying and layering thin wood veneers, with all grain directions aligned in the same direction. This process makes LVL stronger and more consistent than natural solid wood. As a processed wood product, LVL is more durable, with less tendency to shrink or warp. It can also bear heavier loads and span greater distances than traditional wood, providing significant advantages for customers.
